Kalabante Acrobats Presents Afrique en Cirque

Afrique en Cirque will have you on the edge of your seat as you witness spellbinding athleticism and jaw-dropping acts performed to the hypnotic rhythms of West African drums and melodies. Combining dance, live music, theater and some utterly astonishing feats, Montreal’s Kalabanté Productions offers a high-flying, audaciously athletic feast for the senses by fusing long-established African performance art with European circus traditions. The troupe is led by artistic director Yamoussa Bangoura, who was born in Guinea and studied in France and Spain before establishing his own company in Canada. You’ll be astonished by the creation of human pyramids, contortionists who intertwine into one another and aerial acrobatics like you’ve never seen. You’ll witness firsthand the strength, balance and agility of some of the world’s most elite dancers, contortionists, gymnasts and acrobats. The action never stops. You’ll be clapping so much, your hands will be sore when you leave the theater!
